Last week we enjoyed celebrating Diwali in lots of ways with our staff and children.

Our tuff spot has been full of colourful lights and shredded paper to allow the children to explore textures and identify colours.

Children from The Orange Tree @ Derby really enjoyed going on their very own Bear Hunt at Darley Park yesterday!

On Saturday 24 September we welcomed over 100 of our Orange Tree staff for an evening of fun at The Novotel Hotel to celebrate our Annual Awards. This was a fantastic night and an opportunity for us to thank our dedicated and hardworking teams.

Our children took part in a very important "Nursery Council" meeting on 14 September.

They discussed our nursery menus and gave us feedback on what they enjoyed and what they would like including within our menu in the future.

During the meeting we also discussed what our portion sizes should be and how healthy eating is very important for us all!

On Saturday 10 September we were delighted to welcome all of our staff to a full company training day. Jacqui Mason opened the day by sharing our Company Vision and Goals and welcomed our newest team from The Orange Tree @ Burnaston.

This included Safeguarding training updates for all staff (including our support teams) - this was an informative and practical session delivered by Alice Houldsworth and gave us all important time to reflect on a critical area of our day to day responsibilities.

The children's regular visits to The Beaumont Care Home is featured on Notts TV

Every week we take a group of our preschool children to The Beaumont Care Home next door to our nursery to sing for the residents. We used to visit prior to the COVID pandemic and go inside the home and take part in storytelling and arts and crafts with the residents.

Everyone loved planting vegetables and going on a nature hunt!

At Mickleover our Pre-school children have had so much fun taking part in our Little Explorers Club, we have been on a nature hunt around  our beautiful orchard, and we found lots of different types of leaves, twigs and feathers to create our beautiful nature pictures.

Learning about rainbows leads to a fun creative activity!

We have been learning about the weather this week. We have discussed how when the sun comes out when it is raining it can cause a rainbow to form.
