Today we have celebrated Children In Need in style as Superheroes and Princesses!

THANK YOU to all our wonderful families and staff for all the cakes and your generous support of our Cake Sale!

We have got lots of really exciting things planned today for Children In Need across all of our nurseries. Thank you to all our staff and families for their fabulous support with cakes, costumes and donations.

Please do keep an eye on our Facebook pages for updates through the day!

Today we enjoyed "Hug a bear day" at The Orange Tree @ Burnaston. All of our staff and children were invited to come dressed in their PJs and to bring their favourite teddy bear.

We had a teddy bear's picnic and enjoyed some lovely stories!!

This evening we had a parent workshop where we invited parents to learn with us about the early stages of phonics. The children each borrowed a book from the nursery library to enjoy at home.

We have had a busy few weeks at nursery. As part of our parent partnership work we have been focusing on community support. We asked our preschool families to help us in organising a collection for the Mickleover food bank. This is a cause close to home as we're aware times are hard for many people at the moment and we wanted to encourage the children to think about their community.

This week the team at The Orange Tree @ Hucknall have been very busy preparing for Remembrance Day.

We have been completing a parent partnership project this week - we challenged everyone to make poppies at home with their family.

Last week we enjoyed celebrating Diwali in lots of ways with our staff and children.

Our tuff spot has been full of colourful lights and shredded paper to allow the children to explore textures and identify colours.

Children from The Orange Tree @ Derby really enjoyed going on their very own Bear Hunt at Darley Park yesterday!

On Saturday 24 September we welcomed over 100 of our Orange Tree staff for an evening of fun at The Novotel Hotel to celebrate our Annual Awards. This was a fantastic night and an opportunity for us to thank our dedicated and hardworking teams.

Our children took part in a very important "Nursery Council" meeting on 14 September.

They discussed our nursery menus and gave us feedback on what they enjoyed and what they would like including within our menu in the future.

During the meeting we also discussed what our portion sizes should be and how healthy eating is very important for us all!
