Bringing Nature Into Outdoor Areas at Hartshill

We can't wait for the wildlife to return to our gardens.

This month at Hartshill we have been getting ready for the wildlife coming back into our gardens.

The children in Wise Owls have decorated their own bird house and these have been placed all around our outdoor areas.

We have bug hotels and bird feeders too! I wonder what type of wildlife we will see?

Well done everyone!

Notts TV Appearance for Children at Hucknall

The children's regular visits to The Beaumont Care Home is featured on Notts TV

Every week we take a group of our preschool children to The Beaumont Care Home next door to our nursery to sing for the residents. We used to visit prior to the COVID pandemic and go inside the home and take part in storytelling and arts and crafts with the residents.

As we are unable to go inside the care home currently, we have been taking our children to sing through the window to the residents to still keep the connection between us and to share some positivity and love during these uncertain times. This week during our visit we were accompanied by Notts TV who came to film our children taking part in this lovely experience and speak to them and the residents about why this is so special to us all.

Outdoor Learning Adventure!

Children from our Derby nursery had so much fun on our outdoor learning adventure at Darley Park!

They explored in the woods, balancing on fallen tree trunks and showed off their physical skills whilst climbing trees.

The children also read the brilliant "Room on the Broom" by Julia Donaldson which inspired them to create their own broomstick. Everyone searched for a variety of branches and worked together as a team to make their very own "truly magnificent broom".

Well done everyone!
