Derby Dates for your Diary!

Posted Sep 29th 2021

There is so much going on in Autumn at our Derby nursery!

Week commencing 27th September: Please can your child bring in a donation for our Harvest Festival hamper, such as a tin, packet, or non-perishable foods. On Friday 1st October we will then be visiting a local care home with a small group of children where we will sing a few songs and gift the hamper to these.

Week commencing 4th October: Please bring photos of your child’s family or special people into nursery this week to enable us to create a family book for our library area.

Monday 4th October: Trip to Darley Park – the children will be off on an adventure to Darley Park where we will be looking for natural treasure, such as pinecones, feathers and maybe a four-leaf clover.

Thursday 7th October: National Poet Day – We would like to invite our parents/ grandparents in to nursery to read a story or poem to our children. If you would like to volunteer for this please email Amanda on

Thursday 14th October: Trip to Darley Park – the children will be heading out to Darley Park today where we will be focussing on our physical skills, such as climbing trees, balancing on the steppingstones and building dens.

Tuesday 26th October: Trip to Darley Park – the children will be using the natural environment to create pictures and collages, collecting resources to bring back to nursery to use in our malleable trays.

Friday 29th October: Black cat and Orange Pumpkin Day: Please come in to nursery dressed in orange and black clothes so we can have a spook-tacular day!

Thursday 4th November: Diwali Celebrations – Please come to nursery dressed in bright and colourful clothing today to help us celebrate the festival of light.
